A great band leaves the Pinoy music scene. (Bamboo: Disbanded)

I can’t believe Bamboo decided to disband after 8 years of successful music. They always had the best performances and it was always vibrant and spirited. Over the years, I’ve watched them play lots of times and I never got tired. Their music was always pleasant to my ears, I’ve had most of their albums and I always adored how they manage to team up to create good music.

It’s really heartbreaking seeing another great band break-up. I’ve always listened to them ever since I was young and Bamboo Manalac has always been one of my favorite vocalists even during the Rivermaya days because of his melancholic voice.

Maybe one thing I loved about Bamboo is they weren’t afraid to try different genres with their music. Who could pull off a gospel choir and use violin and horns as an accessory to their own instruments? It was epic, really.

This band has been part of the Pinoy music scene for almost a decade and they have a long line of fans and I’m certain their music will live on even if the band decides to break-up and move on.

Though it might be disappointing, I wish the best for every member of this band. I hope they’ll start to create good music soon even not as Bamboo. They have great talents and the Filipino music scene won’t be the same without them.

I just can’t wait for a reunion concert in the future.
